Let's face it, HONDURAS is "off the beaten path". People visiting HONDURAS are already looking for a vacation more special and unique than most. We started Honduras Waterfall Descents at Las Cascadas Lodge in June of 2013 for adventure seekers and those looking to explore more of the untouched nature around the resort and Pico Bonito National Park.

Canyoning (defined below) is the best way to see some of the more rare and untouched nature in Honduras.
Why is this? Streams cutting through the jungle make trails seldom followed by humans.
What Is CANYONING?
Canyoning or Waterfall Descents in Honduras) is a type of mountaineering that involves traveling in canyons using a variety of techniques that include activities such as walking, scrambling, climbing, jumping, abseiling (rappelling), and swimming. Canyoneering is commonly associated with technical descents that require abseils (rappels) and rope work, technical climbing or down-climbing, technical jumps, and/or technical swims.

’CASCADAS CANYON’
Extreme adventure in the jungle descending waterfalls.
The 1/2 Day Waterfall Descents/Canyoning involves: swimming, descending on ropes (abseiling), jumping into pools, hiking, and some climbing/scrambling.
A good level of fitness is required for this trip.

TRIP TIME: 9AM (ALL DAY)
$190.00 USD PER PERSON (2 pers minumum)
This all day trip combines a morning adventure to Pico Bonito National Park followed by lunch at Las Cascadas, and then the ‘Cascadas Canyon’ in the afternoon.
The Full Day Waterfall Descents/Canyoninginvolves: swimming, descending on ropes (abseiling), jumping into pools, hiking, and some climbing/scrambling.
A good level of fitness is required for this trip.

CANYONING
The sport of exploring a canyon by engaging in such activities as rappelling, swimming, and waterfall jumping. Canyons that are ideal for canyoning are often cut into the bedrock stone, forming narrow gorges with numerous drops, beautifully sculpted walls, and sometimes spectacular waterfalls. Most canyons are cut into limestone, sandstone, granite, or basalt, though other rock types are found. Canyons can be very easy or extremely difficult, though emphasis in the sport is usually on aesthetics and fun rather than pure difficulty. A wide variety of canyoning routes are found throughout the world, and canyoning is enjoyed by people of all ages and skill levels.

Includes climbing hardware, static or semi-static ropes, helmets, and specially designed shoes, packs, and rope bags. Honduras Waterfall Descents provides the gear below as well as harnesses and climbing hardware.
